No two commissions are the same. I don’t want to predetermine a ‘template garden design procedure’ – I feel doing that can sometimes stifle an approach to a particular project.

The stages of development can be as regimented or liberated as your discretion dictates.

Upon our initial contact – be it in writing, over the phone or by e-mail – I will clearly explain the options available to you, we can discuss them and select the most constructive approach for you and your project.

A general summary of potential design process elements:

'Meeting you. Initial assessments, surveyance, analysis of the site and the project direction. This is where the FEEL begins.

The beautiful process of exploring your specifications, ideas and desires; touching, at hand, an established and fundamental approach to garden creation; or indeed reaching out with all senses to the endless possibilities of design. Enter INNOVATION!

As a final design is achieved it will be recorded as a Master Layout Plan and Planting Plan; perhaps accompanied by any relevant or required additional drawings, such as construction sections or free-hand perspective renditions.

My involvement will not end at this stage. I will be a presence throughout the entire design creation process - the showground of TECHNIQUE; be it project management; personal involvement with excavation and ground-works or construction and finishing; creating a piece of sculpture or artwork; or simply in a supervisory capacity.
